Office of the County Attorney

The Union County Office of the County Attorney is an internal legal office that reports to the Board of County Commissioners and is comprised of the County Attorney, Senior Staff Attorneys and Staff Attorneys. The purpose of the Union County Office of the County Attorney is to provide internal day-to-day legal counsel to Union County's elected officials, management and division directors through direct and ready access to full-time, in-house legal staff.

Primary duties of the Union County Office of the County Attorney include the drafting or review of all county contracts; drafting of county resolutions, regulations, special legislation and ordinances; research into legal issues presented by the various service areas and divisions; the drafting and review of legal documents; and attendance of all meetings of the Union County Board of Commissioners in the capacity of legal counsel.

The Union County Office of the County Attorney is not able to provide legal advice to Union County residents, businesses, or other individuals.
