Roadside litter is a recurring problem for our community. Addressing this pervasive problem requires that we all do our part. 

Union County uses multiple strategies to combat this issue, in keeping with best practices that have proven effective in other communities across the country. One of those strategies is to help facilitate litter collection efforts. We do this within our own organization, with an annual litter collection event that is open to county employees. We also provide resources to community groups who are organizing their own litter collection events including:

• safety vests
• litter grabbers
• gloves
• trash bags

We also accept bags of litter for free disposal at our convenience center sites. Volunteers may also inquire with us about the option to leave bags of litter at the roadside for our staff to collect.
